丹麦哥本哈根大学生物化学与遗传学博士后职位
job description
Title: Two Postdoctoral Fellowships, Department of Disease Biology, Chromatin Structure & Function Group
Tenure: Two years, with a possible extension depending on any previous employment as a postdoc at a Danish university.
Employment Conditions:
Employment will be in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Danish Government and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). The position will be at the level of postdoctoral fellow and the salary depends on seniority, as agreed between the Ministry of Finance and AC, around 31.000-33.000 DKK/month (approximately 4.100-4.400 Euro/month). To the basic salary, a monthly contribution to a pension fund is added (17.1% of the salary), and a supplement could be negotiated, dependent on the candidate’s experiences and qualifications. In all cases, the ability to perform the job will be the primary consideration, and thus we encourage all – regardless of their personal background and status – to apply.
Depending on the previous work experience of the candidate, the position will be at the level of postdoc with the possibility of qualifying for an associate professor position in the future.
Background:
The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research (CPR) at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Copenhagen, has been established to promote basic and applied discovery research on human proteins of medical relevance. The Center comprises a wide range of expertise and skills, from in silico target identification, proteomics, high-throughput protein production, chemical biology and disease biology to protein therapeutics. Currently, we have recruited >120 staff members to our research groups and staff functions, and expect to expand to around 150 scientists in the near future.
The Chromatin Structure & Function Group within the Department of Disease Biology at CPR, led by Group Leader and Associate Professor Jeremy A. Daniel, focuses on investigating how chromatin accessibility regulates genomic stability. We aim to create a technically and internationally diverse and dynamic research environment with an emphasis on collaboration between group members and others in the community. Please find more information on the webpage: http://www.cpr.ku.dk/groups/diseasebiology/chromatin_structure_and_function/
Project:
We are recruiting two outstanding, ambitious postdoctoral candidates with a strong background in biochemistry and genetics to join our group. The projects will focus on investigating how chromatin accessibility regulates DNA repair and recombination in lymphocytes using mouse genetics and biochemistry as key methods, coupled with genomic and proteomic approaches.
Qualifications required:
A PhD in biochemistry, genetics, immunology, cancer biology, or a similar field is required. Excellent publication record along with experience in the generation or characterization of mouse models, flow cytometry, cytogenetics and chromatin immunoprecipitation will be considered distinct advantages. The successful candidates will be expected to drive their own research project, actively participate in laboratory meetings and help to train students.
The tentative start date is 1 February, 2012 or later.
To apply:
In order to be taken into consideration for this position you must send your application by clicking “Apply online” below. The application must be including the following appendices:
