瑞士伯尔尼大学招聘生物化学博士后
The International Fellowship Program (IFP) TransCure, funded in part by an FP7 European Marie Curie Actions grant, invites applicants for post-doctoral training in a multidisciplinary research network with state-of-the-art biophysics, pathophysiology, structural biology and medicinal chemistry. IFP TransCure supports highly qualified international postdoctoral scientists to conduct research at major universities in Switzerland, including Basel, Bern, Lausanne and Zürich, as part of the activities of this unique translational research network. The major support for this network comes from the Swiss National Center of Competence in Research (NCCR) TransCure (http://www.transcure.org). Our research focuses on therapeutically attractive membrane transporters and ion channels with the aim to understand and develop treatments for major human diseases. Training is available in the following research areas and with the following principal investigators:
1. Use of in vitro and in vivo cancer models (e.g. xenograft studies) in the evaluation of therapeutic lead compounds: Matthias Hediger, Michel Aguet
2. Structure of lipid and drug transporters: Kaspar Locher
3. Role of canalicular lipid secretion in acquired forms of cholestasis: Bruno Stieger
4. Iron transport and iron storage diseases: Matthias Hediger, Raimund Dutzler
5. Structure, function and pharmacology of the anoctamine family of calcium-activated chloride channels: Raimund Dutzler
6. Vesicular neurotransmitter transporters (i.e. transporters for glutamate and monoamines): Andrea Volterra, Paola Bezzi, Raimund Dutzler
7. Diabetes, energy homeostasis and gout: Bernard Thorens
8. Endocannabinoid transport: Juerg Gertsch
9. Membrane transport in kidney dysfunction: Daniel Fuster, Bruno Vogt
10. Bone and mineral homeostasis: Willy Hofstetter
11. Pathologies during pregnancy: Daniel Surbek, Marc Baumann, Christiane Albrecht
12. Na/H exchangers and diabetes: Daniel Fuster
13. Structure and function of amino acid, vitamin C, oligopeptide and lactate transporters: Dimitrios Fotiadis, Matthias Hediger
14. Virtual screening and chemical ligand design for channels and transporters: Jean-Louis Reymond, Karl-Heinz Altmann
15. Development of selective fluorescence- and photoaffinity-labeled ligands: Martin Lochner
16. TRP channels and Na/Ca exchangers in heart diseases: Hugues Abriel, Ernst Niggli, Henning Stahlberg, Mark Hilge
17. Pain and purinergic receptors: Matthias Hediger
18. Preclinical drug development (pharmacology/toxicology/ADME/PK) for validated transporter/channel targets): Several groups
To indicate your interest, please submit your application, including CV, list of publications, letter of motivation (two pages max.), and a list of three reference addresses (with phone number and e-mail address) to Prof. Matthias A. Hediger, Director NCCR TransCure, through our online application platform.
Please check your eligibility and further guidance on our website (www.transcure.org).
Application deadline is August 10, 2012.
Qualified female candidates are especially encouraged to apply.
Requirements:
- Applicants for the TransCure International Fellowship Program must at the time of their application either hold a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or M.D.) or a confirmation of receiving a degree no later than October 31st, 2012.
- The doctoral degree must have been awarded no more than four years prior to the application date. Exceptions are made for well documented career breaks (e.g. parental leave).
- Applicants of any nationality (including Swiss citizens) must not have resided or carried out their main activity in Switzerland for more than 12 months within 3 years immediately prior to the application deadline.
- Applicants must be proficient in spoken and written English.
- Applicants must have at least one original publication as first author published, in press, or accepted in a peer-reviewed journal.
