The Leibniz Institute for Farm Animal Biology is a premier European Institute for interdisciplinary basic as well as applied research on farm animals relating to a resource efficient, sustainable animal production and the health and welfare of animals. The Institute employs over 300 members of staff and is located near the city of Rostock in the North of Germany (2 hour drive to Berlin and Hamburg).

We seek to appoint a

post-doctoral scientist

in the area of Reproductive Cell Biology and Endocrinology

starting as soon as possible, for 2 years

The position is remunerated at TV-L E 13 level.

Tasks:
We are looking for a post-doctoral scientist with experience in Reproductive Cell Biology and Endocrinology, and a good knowledge of modern cell and molecular biological methods, besides reproductive physiology. The well-equipped laboratory is researching with projects linked to understanding fertility, infertility and early pregnancy in domestic species and humans with a special focus on relaxin-family peptides and non-genomic steroid hormone actions. The position is available for 2 years initially, starting as soon as possible.

Selection Criteria:
The applicant should hold a doctoral degree in Agricultural Science, Biology, or Veterinary Medicine (DVM or PhD). Experience as a postdoctoral researcher is considered an advantage.

The appointee should have experience in modern methods of cell and molecular biology, and a broad knowledge of mammalian reproductive physiology and endocrinology.
